Today a little parcel arrived for me! I recently made use of my 20% discount from ELLE for Oasis and today it arrived on my doorstop. I really like the collection in the shop but this particular print stood out for me. I love the sheer collar poking through and the two-tone print. I am not really a fan of peplums usually, but this little suggestion of one was a little more playful and subtle. I cant wait to wear this in the summer weather. I was also pleasantly surprised by the packaging, its definitely the added attention to detail that makes a shopping experience worthwhile.

Paisley Maxi Dress
As the sun is shining and I am spending my time in shorts and sandals, I thought I would share with you another one of the practice photo shoots I did with my mother. I love the light fabric of this dress and it was so much fun getting it to swirl and wave. Its great for putting on over my swim suit on the beach. I also love the paisley print, it's a little old but I seem to remember finding this in Matalan at a bargain price.
I hope everyone else is enjoying the broiling sunshine!

Summer Sun
Some little flowers that I spotted on my walk with the dog today.
What I wore in the broiling heat.
Our garden so far, so far we have removed a large dying pampas grass and de-weeded some of this stony section. I am looking forward to sipping my morning coffee on our trellis bench.
I spotted this sign on my walk today and thought it was pretty.
My lovely but naughty, silly but smart boxer dog Milly. She refused to turn around for a photo, typical diva.
Just some shots from my beautiful sunny day, spent lying in the garden and reading my books. I am so glad to finally see the sun, let's hope it stays a little longer...

Blue florals
I have been lucky enough to rescue these beauty's from the trunk of clothes making their way to ebay from my mum's wardrobe. I absolutely love this floral blouse with its lace edging and sheer sleeves. I have paired it with this navy blue skirt and my favourite necklace which I stole from my mum as well.
This was the original outfit though the skirt is normally a little shorter it wouldn't stay up on the mannequin. I am not sure whether I like the floral on floral, I think it may be best to wear them separately - what do you think?
I forgot to add these into my 'chocoholic' post. These are delicious chunks of fridge cake. It is another recipe from Lorraine Pascale's Home Baking Made Easy. You can have whatever you like in them but I opted for mini marshmallows, Malteser's and digestive biscuits. I used dark chocolate but you can make it with milk if you wish. They make a great snack and a great recipe to do with children!
Today, mum and I tackled the garden, we have only just moved in and the garden was looking a bit shabby. There was a lot of sheering, digging and de-weeding but it is looking a lot better now. The sun even popped out during our dog walk which has literally made my day! Tomorrow we will be tackling what we want to be a little vegetable plot.
P.S. I have just got a new phone - the Samsung Galaxy Ace, I have a very simple contract as I am not big on technology to be honest. I am currently pondering over whether to add internet into my contract, though I am not sure whether it is worth it - what do you think?

Chocoholic
This is the cheesecake I made for my brother's 19th birthday celebrations. I was planning on making the classic victoria sponge as it is one of his favourites but when I saw this in the Lorraine Pascale recipe book I couldn't resist - besides who doesn't like chocolate cheesecake covered with chocolate and then some more chocolate.
Unfortunately, the cheesecake didn't seem to set as well as my other cheese cakes but it tasted amazing, so thats all that really matters! As you maybe able to tell I had a lot of fun with the white chocolate, the recipe suggested a much more elegant pretty style but I decided this rather more crazy style was a lot more fun. I also only had a matter of minutes before the chocolate set inside the piping bag!
I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted anything up, but I have now finished my exams and although praying for some good results I now have the rest of study leave to relax. Some much needed rest has occurred so far, but I have a long list of what I would like to do in this little interim of free time. On my list is do blog much much more now there is no school I have no excuse! I will be doing a lot more baking as it is the best thing ever so look forward to some scrumptious photos.
P.S this recipe was from Lorraine Pascale's Home Baking Made Easy, well worth a buy for recipes from soups to sweets. I have yet to tackle all its pages but after this delight I would recommend it.

My Little White Dress
dress - Next
necklace - New Look
images curtesy of My Captured Images
My mum asked me to help her with her photography assignment the brief being fashion photography. We spent some time looking into different poses often used in magazines. I would also recommend watching Elle's TV section of their site to catch some of the work behind the cover shoots. I thought it would be the best opportunity to flaunt my new dress. I first saw the dress featured in ELLE's high street issue and fell in love, however it wasn't going to be a bargain. I was then astonished to see it in Next's two day sale and I was lucky enough to get the dress for £20 when it was originally £75. I love the pleats and all the embellishments, especially the delicate little flowers. I cant wait for the sun to shine a little more and I can wear this outside. I had loads of fun doing the shoot and have more outfits to come, modelling lead to some hilarious faces hence some of the cropping.
Today I finally completed my 2,000 word essay on One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Fight Club, although it was quite a bit over the word limit. I am really enjoying English Literature, but I am not a major fan of Chuck Palahniuk's work but One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a beautiful novel which definitely tugged at my heart strings.
Happy Weekend everyone

Whistles
lottie pleated skirt and cecile stripe skirt
I recently purchased a subscription to ELLE for £15 as a birthday bargain treat, and with this month's instalment I received a £15 gift card to shop as Whistles. I have not really shopped at Whistles before so I went to check out there online store to see what I might be able to add to my ever growing wardrobe. There are some stunning pieces, however I soon realised my gift card wasn't really going to stretch that far. I particularly liked these two pleated skirts, I love pleats at the moment I think they are so soft and pretty. I especially love the colours of these two - very delicate.
This bracelet and belt also caught my eye. Anyone else come across a new store they love?
